The Ryan Purcell Memorial Run is the last and final run of the South Buffalo Running Series!
The Ryan Purcell Memorial Foundation is proud to announce that the 2019 5K honorees for this year will be Ray “Doc” McGurn and Joe Lombardo.
The Michael J. Diggins Community Service Award will presented to Ray “Doc” McGurn. Ray’s service to the community has been multifaceted. He founded the civic and charitable group Goin’ South, dedicated to the betterment of South Buffalo. Ray also served as Deputy Mayor and Commissioner of Permits and Inspections. He started the South Buffalo Irish Feis, which he chaired for 17 years.
The Tim O’Neil Good Samaritan Award will be presented to Joe Lombardo. Joe, a long time South Buffalo resident and graduate of St. Martin School and Bishop Timon High School. He is the director of Lombardo Funeral Homes, a family business that has grown tremendously under his direction. He assists many local churches with bereavement. Joe has helped countless families during their darkest time, showing great kindness and humility.
